Cognis Nutrition and Health introduced the Plantalin™ range of high quality plant extracts for functional foods and beverages at Vitafoods in Geneva in May of last year and ACI Group Ltd are very pleased to be working with Cognis to promote this range under the Naturis brand in the UK and Ireland.
The Plantalin™ range includes extracts of aloe vera, ginseng, passion flower, guarana, lemon balm, green tea and low caffeine green tea. These products and the rest of the Plantalin™ range are produced at the Cognis facilities in Spain. The range provides value-added for manufacturers by being standardised, manufactured to GMP and extracted with water unlike some competitors who use solvent extraction. This approach is a good match for the Naturis ethos of providing customers with ingredients to promote a natural and healthy lifestyle with no compromise on quality.
Traditionally, the properties of Plant Extracts have been associated with the Beverage industry with the UK market accounting for over 30% of the Functional Beverages in Western Europe. Cognis recognises that under Naturis, ACI Group Ltd has an excellent understanding of UK consumers and how to position products to appeal to targeted audiences This provides exciting market opportunities for extending these benefits to other sectors such as dairy products, snack foods and confectionary.
Possible concepts are utilising the energising properties of ginseng and guarana into performance snack foods or lemon balm and passion flower into a relaxing, indulgent chocolate treat.
